Need help with Navy HM questions?

I've been an EMT for two years now and love every minute of it. A few months ago, I decided to join the navy reserves, and told my recruiter I only want reserve HM. He told me there are never any openings, and I was aware of this. He keeps trying to get me to change my mind and telling me other rates do medical like aircrew and all. I only want HM and thats frustrating him. Now, he said he has a dental tech corpsman that's on leave that he wants me to talk to. I know HMDA's are corpsman and go to corpsman school also, but then they go to dental school for 40 days. I don't want that!! My recruiter is trying to say that I won't be working as a dental tech hardly at all. I just don't know what to do. I hate teeth and want nothing to do with it but I know it's still a corpsman.... What do I do? Please help. Thank you!
