Classical piano/pop-rock piano?

Hi! I've been taking private piano lessons for 8 years with classical music instructors. lately i've been kinda bored. i was wondering how to become a pop-rock pianist after only playing classical music. i mean, i love classical music but i also want to do other things with piano. thanks!!!
