Im looking to enlist into the Navy to become a corpsman. Is it true that the Navy is overmanned?

I dont have the statistics in front of me but I can tell you the Navy and military in general has become much more picky about who they recruit, mainly because of the economic situation. The first thing any employer does to balance their budget is to lay people off so I would assume they are probably on the "over manned" side of things.
