Hospital Corpsman information?

Hi, I'm currently studying at a University for a Nursing Degree. I have wanted to join the Navy since I was a kid, and once I get my RN I plan on joining and trying to become a Hospital Corpsman. Are the chances of me getting one of those limited spots better once I do get my RN? Thanks
