Do Navy fmf corpman see as much action as a marine?

ive heard to many things one what being a corpsman would be like such as: ill be stuck in a hospital my whole service, ill be stuck on a ship the whole time, or i will be a fmf corpsman but just not do much at all! I want to be just like the marines but only their doc. thank you!
